Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe

- 4 green tomatoes sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
1. Slice the green tomatoes about ¼ inch thick.
2. In one bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk. In a third bowl, place the cornmeal.
3. Dip each tomato slice in the flour mixture, then in the buttermilk, and finally coat with cornmeal.
4. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the tomatoes until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
