Southern Chicken and Dumplings Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken cut into pieces
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- to taste Salt and pepper
In a large pot, combine chicken and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 30 minutes.
Remove chicken from pot and let cool. Shred the meat, discarding bones and skin.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk to form a dough.
Drop spoonfuls of dough into simmering broth. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
Add shredded chicken back to the pot. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for another 10 minutes.
