  • 2 cups Japanese short-grain rice
  • 2.5 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 sheet Nori (seaweed) cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds optional

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the rice in a rice cooker with 2.5 cups of water.
  3. Once cooked, let the rice cool slightly.
  4. Wet your hands with water and sprinkle with salt.
  5. Take a handful of rice and shape it into a triangle or ball.
  6. Wrap a strip of nori around the rice ball.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
