Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 lbs Beef short ribs
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 2 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the ribs on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and cook until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  5. Stir in the tomato paste, then add the red wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
  6. Return the ribs to the pot and add the beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Cover the pot and transfer to the preheated oven. Cook for about 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
  8. Remove the ribs from the pot and skim off any excess fat from the sauce. Serve the ribs with the sauce spooned over the top.
