Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ziti pasta
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 lb Ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, cook the ground beef or Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the minced garlic, dried basil, and dried oregano. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti pasta, followed by half of the meat sauce, and then the ricotta cheese mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining pasta, meat sauce, and ricotta mixture.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
